As we bid farewell to the holiday season and embrace the promise of a fresh year, I took a pause to reflect on my hopes for 2025. This year, I’m seeking something simple yet profound: a life that’s clear, organized, and filled with purpose. And as I worked on a little handmade wreath project, my thoughts wandered to the beauty of simplicity.

Sometimes, the answers we seek are already right in front of us—we just need to adjust our gaze. Our world is bursting with abundance, but it’s all about perspective, isn’t it? Sure, this might sound a bit cliché, especially to those facing hardships, but hear me out: opportunities, big and small, are everywhere. If we’re open to seeing them, we can transform our surroundings and our lives.

So, in 2025, I wish for each of you to find your own rhythm of simplicity—what really matters to you in this busy world? What can you strip away to uncover the essence of your happiness?
Now, let’s dive into the fun part—my DIY project that brought me so much joy! 🌿
A Love Story in Nature: Crafting a Wreath with Love
I started with a non-stick pizza pan, which I almost tossed out. It’s slowly being replaced by more natural materials in my kitchen, so I thought—why not repurpose it? Along with a chipped white plate, these two castoffs became the heart of my DIY wreath.

What’s life without a little love story? I wanted to weave a tale into my decor, so I imagined two sweet birds falling in love. Picture it: first, the male bird approaches her, their eyes meet, and sparks fly. After that, they build their dream nest together. 🕊️ Who knows—maybe next year, I’ll add a tiny nest with baby birds. The possibilities are endless, and it made me smile just thinking about it.

Creating a Dreamy Wreath: Nature’s Gifts in Every Corner
I started by using a hot glue gun to attach moss and pinecones to the plate. For snow, I melted some candle wax and sprinkled birch sugar for a frosty, magical touch. I glued a small candle to the center to make the whole thing easy to move, and in the beak of the male bird, I added a tiny shrub as if he were offering her a gift. How cute is that? 😍

Next, I added a few sprigs of fir that I gathered for free from a local Christmas tree shop. The fir was perfect for creating a lush backdrop that completely covered the plate, transforming it into a beautiful, nature-filled masterpiece.

What made me truly proud was knowing that the central piece of this wreath was crafted mostly from materials I found in nature. Nothing feels better than making something beautiful with what the world offers us freely.

A Thought for 2025: Uncover the Free Gifts Around You
As we step into this new year, I challenge all of us to reflect on what’s available to us for free—and how we might use it in more meaningful ways. Maybe it’s the beauty of nature, the love of family, or the simple joys we overlook. What can you embrace this year that’s been waiting right in front of you?

This wreath isn’t just a decoration; it’s a reminder to simplify, appreciate what’s around us, and nurture the beauty of the moment. And let’s face it: life’s pretty good when we make space for a little creativity, love, and nature to come together.

So, here’s to a year of simplicity, connection, and finding joy in the simplest things. What will you create in 2025?
